According to UNICEF, there are 145 million orphans in the world. Every 18 seconds another child is orphaned. These children are in great need of simple necessities such as medical care, education, clean water, food and shelter.
With 145 million orphans serving as more than enough inspiration, ultra-marathoner and founder of Race for Good, Tim Borland, will run a full marathon (26.2 miles) everyday for 145 days. But, the World Orphan Run is about more than just one man running. It is a catalytic event that will build both a message platform and meaningful network to accomplish the goals of:
- Inspiring people to take action by recognizing their gifts and ability to make a difference
- Educating communities about the orphan crisis and the needs of these disenfranchised children
- Initiating action by building connecting individuals to projects and partners that empower individuals to make a direct impact in the lives of orphans
We need YOU!
Help us put on a World Orphan run rally in a city near you and come support the World Orphan Run in your area. You'll get inspired, educated, and activated to change the world.
